Happy Holi
H O L I H A I !The festival of colours - Holi is here . The coming of Spring is celebrated with a riot of rich colors . People smear 'gulal' and drench others with coloured water .
Holi actually starts the night before with a bonfire made up of all the dried leaves and branches that are burnt to signify the coming of Spring.
In most regions of India, Holi celebrates the joyful leelas of Lord Krishna and his gopis. There are other stories. Like the one about Holika who believed herself to be immune to death by fire and tries to kill her nephew Prahlad but gets burnt to death herself .
